Abstract Nowadays, greenhouse covering materials have a vital role in terms of protective cultivation process. Many farmers use polyfilms, rigid or semi-rigid plastic panels, and glazing as the present scenario. However, these are known for their high cost, short service life, cause harmful environment. Solar transmittance property is one main criteria choosing any materials. This study prepares various woven fabrics made polyester, cotton, polyester–cotton blend yarns. Their solar characteristic analyzed to develop fabric compare it with polyethylene film already used cladding material substitute The transmission polyester achieved 70% photosynthesis active radiation, suitable commercial material. In addition, has tensile strength extension much higher than that
